An adventure by Aurélien Baumann

Escape the Dawn Warrior Island

A first adventure. A whole world beyond the shore.

Broken ship timbers on a tropical beach beneath a jungle-covered plateau, as sunlight breaks through storm clouds.

A shipwreck is only the beginning

A mutiny and a storm cut a voyage short. Stranded on an island off Chult, the characters must explore their surroundings and find a way back to sea.

I wrote this adventure to give new players a first taste of D&D: a place to discover, original characters to meet, and a shared story to set in motion.

One evening, or the start of a campaign

Use it as an introduction to the game, with a clear destination for the session: escape the island. Or make it the opening of a longer journey into Chult and Tomb of Annihilation.

The published adventure includes advice for making that transition. The island can be a first step into a campaign, while keeping this opening adventure focused on the group’s immediate predicament.
